Health and Wellness
The links between good food and wellness are well established in humans and the benefits of good, species appropriate food have become increasingly clear to pet owners. We know from countless experiences that our raw food is more appealing than kibble or over processed foods. It has texture and visual appeal as well as tasting a whole world better. Our customers comment on the way their pet reacts to our food and it is with pleasure that we note that they love it! Enjoying food releases endorphins just like it would in humans.

Raw Food is being recognized by progressive vets as having health and wellness benefits for sick animals as well as healthy animals. Some of these vets have been kind enough to recommend our food to their patients. Older and sick pets benefit even more than healthy pets from a raw food diet. Some of the reasons are set out below:
- Raw Food is easier to digest than kibble as the stomach is designed to process and utilize this kind of food. A sick dog is more able to eat and absorb the nutrients from our food and it places less strain on their digestive system
- The dogs simply enjoy eating it so much more! - for older dogs this alone makes the transition to raw food worth it
- Raw diets are rich in natural fats, omega-3s, and amino acids that help reduce skin irritation and improve coat condition
- Raw-fed dogs typically produce smaller, firmer stools with less odor because their bodies absorb more nutrients and produce less waste

Dr. Kendra Pope, DVM Oncologist
Cancer is on the rise in our pets. Not everybody, faced with this emotionally wrenching situation wants to take the conventional approach to treatment. I first heard Dr Pope speak during the Healthy Dog Expo in Albany NY in 2022.
Her approach encompasses changing how we treat cancer and chronic disease through the use of science based and evidence informed integrative medicine. As the founder and CEO of Prism Integrative Veterinary Health, Dr. Pope leads a practice dedicated to providing innovative, patient-driven care for domestic and exotic pets. Her approach combines conventional medical treatments with integrative therapies such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutritional counseling.
